The sharp decline in sales resulting from responsible “social distancing” has been catastrophic for Westport’s small, local businesses.

OneWestport is a campaign to encourage Westport residents, and others, to purchase gift cards now for use later once normal commerce resumes.

At OneWestport, there is a comprehensive list of local retailers, fitness studios, salons, spas and restaurants all with links to purchase gift cards online (or via phone or email.)

Bridgeport Hospital Specimen Collection Center for COVID-19

Bridgeport Hospital Specimen Collection Center for COVID-19

In an effort to minimize Bridgeport Hospital’s COVID-19 exposure and to ensure proper testing of patients that have received a physician’s order and that have a scheduled appointment Bridgeport Hospital (Yale New Haven Health) will be activating Specimen Collection Center for COVID-19. Again, this center is based on a physician’s order and a scheduled appointment, no walk-ins will be allowed at either site, so if a person is feeling sick they should contact their physician immediately and receive an order from said physician.

The Center will be set utilizing a hospital’s campus facility located on Mill Hill Ave..

Bridgeport Hospital (Operation Hours: 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday)

Bridgeport Hospital traffic impact can be expected on Mill Hill Avenue with No Parking on the event side of the road from Barnum Avenue to Clermont Avenue. Homeowners can park at the Hospital owned Parking Lot at the corner of Central Avenue and Barnum Avenue or on the odd-side of the street.

Bridgeport Police Department will be present for traffic control.

Again, we want to ensure the community understands that this testing site and any person accessing this site needs to have a physician’s order and have a scheduled appointment.

Easy ways to stop touching your face while working

Easy ways to stop touching your face while working

One of the best ways to avoid infections is to stop touching your face, but it’s much harder than you think. Here’s some easy ways to avoid touching your face.

  1. Stop slouching or leaning on desks. You are more likely to touch your face if you’re leaning on something for support.
  2. Keep your hands busy. Hard to touch your face if your hands are full right? Pens, rings, coffee, stress balls, etc. Just remember to wipe them down first!
  3. Start keeping track. We’ve all found out how much we touch our faces now that we’re more aware of it. Keeping track makes you notice how frequently you do it.
  4. Wear a lotion scent you don’t like! The bad smell can help to retrain your habits and just smelling the scent will make you aware you’re touching your face again.
