WEBE108 Stamford Town Center Head of the Class Winner!

WEBE108 Stamford Town Center Head of the Class Winner!

Congratulations to our WEBE108 Stamford Town Center Head of the Class Winner: Carol O’Connell! Below is the nomination her daughter wrote in…

I’m submitting the most deserving teacher and parent, my mom, aka Ms. O’Connell, who has been an Art teacher in the City of Bridgeport for 29 years. For my entire life, my mom has been a single mom with 3 kids making ends meet with two jobs, waitressing at night, but always Ms. O’Connell, the art teacher, first. As an inner city teacher, she has seen the ups and downs, the struggles and hardships, but always put her students first. In times where we would struggle financially, she always had to go to BJ’s to get candy for her students, knowing how much they looked forward to Ms. O’Connell’s treats. Her face lights up when she talks about her students, she smiles with her eyes and teaches with her heart. Not to mention she loves WEBE and listens everyday, hoping to win something – and I hope her hard work, passion and dedication can be recognized as she deserves. We love you mama!!!

Sunday was a beautiful day for the celebration of Making Strides of Greater New Haven. We set-up at Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven as Survivors, Family and supporters drove through with Pink Decorations on their vehicles. Danny Lyons was on hand to cheer them on as they drove the route!
