The Fairfield County Community Foundation announced Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter and musician John Mayer has made a donation of $150,000 as a matching challenge to help increase access to mental health care, regardless of a recipient’s ability to pay. www.fccfoundation.org
Mr. Mayer will match each donation, up to $150,000, potentially raising $300,000 for mental health care services across Fairfield County.

Why: The tragedy at Sandy Hook School was a painful reminder of the need to address some of the underlying mental health issues across the county. Contributions to the John Mayer Matching Challenge will go to the Fairfield County Community Foundation’s Fund for Health and Wellness. Grants from the fund will support Fairfield County nonprofits that provide quality mental health services for children, teens, families and adults and seniors throughout the entire county.
